10 Things You Didn’t Know About WWE WrestleMania

5. Steve Austin’s Unique History

Austin did, however, create some unique WrestleMania history just last year.

He's the only man to have headlined the pay-per-view series in the 1990s, 2000s and 2020s. Obviously, he skipped the 2010s post-retirement, and wasn't active in the 1980s when the show began airing. Still, it's unlikely anyone who last main-evented a card 20 years ago will return to do so again in the future.

The only workers who have a real shot at doing what Austin did? Someone like John Cena in a few years. Even then, JC wouldn't be able to match Steve's heroics from the 90s - he headlined opposite Shawn Michaels in 1998, vs. The Rock in 2001 and vs. Kevin Owens in 2022.

Think about that for a second. Go on, let it swirl around your brain box. Sounds mad, doesn't it? Hulk Hogan must be dreaming about working a squash bout so he can say he wrestled on 'Mania in the 80s, 90s, 2000s and 2020s.
