10 Things You Didn't Know About AEW Double Or Nothing

3. AEW > WWE?

Its ambiguously drawn-out duration aside, Double or Nothing 2022 made history in a major way for All Elite Wrestling with the highest gate of any pro wrestling show in North America, WWE excluded.

With 14,459 noted as the official attendance, AEW pulled in well over $1 million in ticket sales alone. An official number wasn't released to the public, however, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Dave Meltzer published a pre-Double or Nothing figure following day one ticket sales - where 12,939 of the initially-allocated 13,524 available tickets were sold - that stated AEW had earned $1.145 million. Add a few extra thousand for the exact number, but it's a forceful coup from the promotion nonetheless.

For comparison, Double or Nothing 2022 broke the record held since April 2019 when, from the WWE-frequented Madison Square Garden, ROH and NJPW presented the G1 Supercard special. Also at $1.1 million, the co-promoted endeavour was just the second non-WWE product to garner a >$1 million gate in North America, the other being the Mexico-based CMLL; they raked in $1 million for their September 2014 81st Anniversary Show.
