Several decades after David McLane's Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling fizzled out, GLOW shined brightly once more in 2017, as the subject of an Alison Brie-led Netflix series.

The revived and fictionalised GLOW was arguably more popular than the original tongue-in-cheek wrestling promotion had ever been, and was subsequently renewed through to a fourth season. Capitalising on GLOW's glow-up, in 2019 IDW Publishing launched a comic book series based on the hit show. A huge comic book nerd, AJ Lee, as well as Lucifer actress Aimee Garcia, were drafted to script the new sequential art serial.

An effusive Lee said the opportunity would allow the pair to "represent diverse, complex, and unbreakable female characters" - citing GLOW as the "perfect fit".

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
