10 Things You Didn't Know About ALL IN

1. Cody’s NWA Title Reign Following The Show

All In
National Wrestling Alliance

Despite the Cody/Nick Aldis NWA World's Heavyweight Championship being amongst the most heated and evocative on the entire show, the reality of the situation couldn't really live up to the billing and prestige inserted for the night.

The two had done an incredible job of making the '12 Pounds Of Gold' feel like the most important title in all of wrestling, which was particularly helpful for an event which didn't have a prize of its own to be considered top of the pile. Cody leaning on being able to walk in his Father's shoes was powerful, as was Aldis putting his personal and professional pride on the line.

But wrestling is a work, and so, ultimately, as a lot of this. Cody's 50 day reign with the Championship was the shortest in a decade, and Aldis' runs either side went 266 and 1043 days respectively. The NWA 70th Anniversary show that hosted their rematch didn't come close to capturing the buzz, and though Cody's business with the organisation ended professionally, it concluded rather quietly in comparison to the bombast and magic of the September 1st 2018 supercard.
