1. Vince Russo Wanted To Take Him To The WWF In 1998
Even though he was clearly one of the most dynamic stars under WCW contract as far back at 1998, Booker T would be forced to wait until the company was pretty much in utter chaos before he'd be shunted up the card into the main event pack. It's no co-incidence that Vince Russo was the man who went to bat for Booker, because he'd been high on the performer even when working for the WWF as chief writer. In 1998, Russo was looking for new talent which he felt could help the WWF roster, and one of the men he name checked was Booker T, who was tearing it up in the mid-card scene of WCW. The switch would obviously never happen, but just how close were wrestling fans to seeing Booker trade punches with the likes of Steve Austin during the height of the Attitude Era? Perhaps people will never really know, but there can be little argument over the success Booker would have had in the WWF. An amazing athlete, the man would have been a fine addition to the WWF roster, but that would have to wait until 2001.
