Growing up in Houston, Texas, Booker T has never really spoken too highly of his childhood. In fact, it must have extremely hard on the young man when both his parents passed away by the time he was 14, leaving his brother, known in pro wrestling circles as Stevie Ray, to raise him. Remarkably, both men would go on to become successful pro wrestlers, winning a plethora of titles and working for some of the biggest companies in the profession. In interviews, Stevie Ray (real name, Lash) has always said that Booker was a good kid, but made some bad choices, likely angry at the hand life had dealt him with his parents. Looking beyond Booker for a second, things must have been incredibly challenging for Lash, looking after his younger brother whilst simultaneously dealing with the death of his mother and father. Despite all the misgivings and problems that Booker would go on to face legally, his brother deserves a lot of credit for single-handedly steering him through his formative years.
