10 Things You Didn't Know About Bret Hart

9. Bret Hart Wrestled Brother Owen In A WWF Match In 1986

This even predates Owen's run as The Blue Blazer. On December 11, 1986, the youngest Hart sibling received a tryout match with the WWF, at a routine Thursday night live event in Denver. Owen would team with veteran S.D. Jones to take on the duo that would be winning the World Tag Team titles in less than two months - The Hart Foundation. The barely-territorial nature of wrestling in 1986 meant that many fans in Colorado wouldn't know who Owen was. To further cloak any clues toward familial connection, he wrestled simply as 'Owen James'. Bret ended up pinning his 21-year-old brother with the Hart Attack clothesline, but not before allowing Owen generous flashes of offense, including a springboard moonsault. Almost certainly, it is the only time they worked with each other with Bret as the heel and Owen as the face.
