Before starting, it's important to note that most of the information here comes from Brian Christopher's interview with blog site CultOfWhatever. The extensive chat (conducted in 2015) is a fascinating piece of insight into his early life, career in the ring and what it was like to be Jerry Lawler's son.

Growing up, it caused Brian a ton of trouble.

At school, Christopher had to defend his dad's honour by fighting off those who believed pro wrestling was either silly or fake, and it's actually how he learned how to stand up for himself in the first place. By his own admission, Brian did have a bit of an ego because of who his father was, and he attributed much of the trouble to that swaggering attitude.

Whenever he was provoked about wrestling's credibility, Brian was willing to throw hands and put doubters in their place. That mentality shows that, from a young age, he was proud of Jerry's achievements in the business and also of being his boy.
