You don’t need to be an athletics aficionado to understand that Charlotte Flair is athletic. The entrance float-over, the corkscrew moonsault, the elegance, the total lack of restrictions sort of give it away. This is a woman who was made for sports, so it is no great shock to hear that Charlotte excelled in a variety of activities before finding her calling inside the squared circle.

Basketball and cheerleading vied for Flair’s attention, but the 2020 Royal Rumble has gone on record to say that volleyball was her true love. She attributes much of this to the social side of things, as she clicked with her volleyball team-mates better than any other sport, but her natural attributes certainly helped as well. Her athletic prowess and family lineage opened many doors, but it was up to Charlotte to smash through them.

She played college volleyball at an impressively high standard, captaining Providence High School in winning two 4 A-State championships. In case you were doubting her importance to the team, she also picked up the player of the year award in one of those seasons. Flair also went on to play a couple of seasons at Appalachian State University in Boone (North Carolina).
