10 Things You Didn't Know About Chelsea Green

8. Lance Storm Taught Her The Ropes

Lance Storm is widely regarded as one of the finest technical wrestlers of his generation. A multi-time champion in WWE, WCW and ECW, Storm was just about as smooth and efficient as the ring as it got, a man who perfected the intricate art of making this whole 'fake fighting' thing look as good as possible. The old jokes about charisma and a lack of exciting character also happen to be way off the mark, but Storm's ability in the ring has never been up for debate.

It is no great shock then that he has gone on to become one of the most appreciated and sought-out trainers in modern wrestling. Storm has trained Peyton Royce, Tyler Breeze, Oney Lorcan, Dominick Mysterio and a whole host of other recognised talents, including Chelsea Green (obviously).

Immediately following Green's main roster debut in December 2019, the two exchanged a series of posts on Twitter that shone a light on the difficult early days of her training. According to Green, it took her more than a week to take a simple back bump and many more before she tried anything other than a bulldog.

Humble beginnings for a future star, but who better than Lance Storm to guide an inexperienced talent through those first tentative steps?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
