It was in Impact that Chelsea Green first made her name. Billed as Laurel Van Ness, Green was middling along was another heel in the Knockouts division when she embarked on a romantic story with Braxton Sutter, better known as The Blade in AEW. Sutter jilted Laurel at the altar, but that was just the beginning. A hot mess was born.

Chelsea's portrayal of a maniacal hot mess gained a whole lot of traction and she soon became one of the most entertaining characters on Impact TV, going through a number of storylines and relationships before winning the Impact Knockouts Championship in December 2018. Three years into her career, she had made it to the top.

The start of something big, right? Not exactly. One month after winning the title she requested her release, setting in motion a series of contractual issues and disagreements. Green wanted to leave, Impact didn't want her to leave with the title. The whole thing looked a little dicy but common sense prevailed in the end, and Green dropped the title to old foe Allie before leaving Impact.

Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
