Her linguistic abilities (she also spoke conversational German and French) initially led to her considering a career with the FBI, but Laurer instead decided to join the Peace Corps. She was assigned to Central America, and would spend two years teaching literacy in Guatemala and Costa Rica.

Despite the inherent positivity of deciding to spend two years attempting to improve the lives of others, this decision caused further strain on her relationship with her parents. Reportedly, her father never got over her decision to eschew a career in the FBI in favour of the Peace Corps.

Laurer spoke highly of the experience however, but when it was done it was time for her to move back to the United States.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
