10 Things You Didn't Know About Dusty Rhodes

1. He Won Over 50 Titles In His Career And None In WWE

There are a lot of wrestlers in the history of the business that have won maybe 15 or 20 major titles that are considered a lot. John Cena's been a 15 time WWE World Champion and that's a huge number because it's more than anybody in that company. A guy like Edge had a great WWE career that saw him win a total of 31 titles. Those numbers are impressive, but Dusty Rhodes went to another level because he won a whopping 50 titles in his career. As we know in wrestling, titles are just based on booking decisions - some of which Dusty decided since he was a booker for a lot of years. It's still pretty amazing to know that he wrestled long enough to accumulate 50 championships. His greatest title accomplishment was becoming the 3-time NWA Heavyweight Champion, which was the highest honor somebody could receive where he worked. While his career would be great even without those accomplishments, it was those titles that really made him a true wrestling legend. Rhodes won gold nearly everywhere he went...except WWE. It's okay, though, because in 2007 he was honored in WWE's Hall of Fame and he will never be forgotten by wrestling fans all over the world.
