2. He Loves Comic Books

Aside from Lego, Balor counts comic books among his passions, and has used this hobby to influence a number of his body paint designs over the years. Plenty of wrestlers shared Balor’s love for the medium and have called-on comic books for inspiration, but none have ever pulled it off in such a visually striking way.

Finn’s such a big fan that he actually considered working as a comic book artist before becoming a professional wrestler. Instead, he has found a healthy compromise between the two, and provided his character with a unique talking point in the process.

Wrestling and comic books are deceptively similar. Both are known for their big, bold characters and basic “good vs. evil” premise, with shady authority figures and shocking alignment shifts. It’s no surprise that so many wrestlers have latched onto comic book culture over the years, and Finn Balor does it with aplomb.
