4. TNA Gut Check 2013
We’ve talked a lot about Ivelisse’s WWE days, but she’s also
made multiple appearances for TNA over the years, including an appearance on
Gut Check.
Gut Check was of course essentially a TNA tryout show, with the likes of Joey Ryan, Samuel Shaw and Wes Brisco coming through the ranks of the show over the years.
Ivelisse’s tryout came on Feb 28, 2013. There, she went up against Lei'D Tapa—niece of former WWE star, and winner of the 1994 Slammy Award for Best Etiquette, the Barbarian. Ultimately, while Ivelisse was victorious in her match with Tapa, winning via a guillotine choke, she was unsuccessful in her bid to win a permanent TNA contract.
Tapa, meanwhile, was signed to a deal, but departed after just 12 months.
Granted we have the benefit of hindsight, but either way you’d have to say that TNA management made the wrong call here.
