From that point, Lethal was handed the opportunity to work with Ric Flair. This was a dream come true for Jay, who had grown up idolising the veteran's performances inside the ring. Now, TNA officials told him, he'd have the chance to share the spotlight with him and even mimic Ric's infamous delivery on television.

Throughout 2010, Flair and Lethal had a few matches and promo segments, but it was the very first one that had Lethal nervous. By that point in his career, the wrestler was used to production staff handing him some bullet points (at least) regarding any promos he had to perform.

Vince Russo informed Lethal that Ric Flair didn't work that way, meaning the whole thing would have to be ad-libbed. It's likely Lethal was confident in his own abilities, but he did tell Wrestling Inc that the thought of going out there blind was intimidating.

In the end, the pair pulled it off, and it's noticeable by watching the promo that Lethal became more comfortable as he eased into his on screen impression.
