9. He'd Never Even Heard Of Little Richard Before Johnny B. Badd Gimmick

Pulling the enhancement talent into his office in 1991, Dusty Rhodes wanted to have a word with Marc Mero. Fearing the worst, Mero believed that the 'American Dream' - then WCW's booker - was about to tell him that his services were no longer required. Instead, he was about to be handed the first big break of his wrestling career.

Asking Mero if he'd ever heard of the singer, Dusty was stunned to learn that the jobber didn't know who Little Richard was. He was even more perplexed when Marc said nobody had ever likened him to the rock n' roll star before, because Rhodes felt Mero was his spitting image.

This is where the Johnny B. Badd character Mero would play for years in WCW was born. Dusty told Mero to pattern himself after Little Richard, which was quite the experience for someone who had never even heard of the musician before.
