10 Things You Didn't Know About Paul Bearer

6. He Managed The Undertaker In His Very First Match

It€™s a bit of a pub quiz style trick question, this: who managed Mark Calaway in his debut? If you answer Bruce €˜Brother Love€™ Prichard, you€™d be 100% right: for the first few weeks of the Undertaker€™s WWF run, the scarlet-faced Brother Love was his manager. You€™d also be right if you gave Bill Moody€™s name, however. Although €˜Paul Bearer€™ might have been created at Christmas 1990 and debuted for the WWF in February 1991, Percy Pringle was alive and kicking for a good decade and more beforehand. When Mark €˜The Undertaker€™ Calaway had his first ever match, it was with a familiar face in his corner. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0lRWx3NMTg Working under a hood just as Moody had in his first few wrestling appearances a decade earlier as Mr. X, Calaway had begun his wrestling career as Texas Red. His debut match at the Sportatorium in Dallas against the legendary Bruiser Brody in 1984 saw Percy Pringle III managing the big fella to a crushing defeat in less than three minutes. Well, it was Bruiser Brody - he was a force of nature.
