Paul Ellering is best known as the manager of The Road Warriors, a position he held for many years. He first took the reigns of the stable known as The Legion of Doom in 1981, managing members The Road Warriors, Jake Roberts, and King Kong Bundy, among others, but before long, the Warriors and Ellering simply became a trio, using the L.O.D. name to describe only themselves.

Ellering stayed with the team for over a decade, managing them in their breakout stint in the AWA, as well as in the NWA, New Japan, and WWE. He even returned to WWE in 1998 for a storyline with his former charges.

Less known about Ellering is that he wasn't just The Road Warriors' manager on-screen - the business-savvy Ellering also handled their affairs off-camera, as well. He would set up matches for his charges, book flights and hotels, and keep track of their expenses.
