10 Things You Didn't Know About Perry Saturn

7. He Had Post-WWE Runs In TNA And New Japan Pro Wrestling

After a hot run with The Radicalz followed by the whole 'Moppy' saga, Saturn was relegated to dark match and C show duty, rarely making appearances on the big shows from late 2001 until his release in late 2002.

According to Saturn, he was asked to take a pay cut or else his contract wouldn't be renewed, but he refused. He also noted that he wasn't surprised when he was released, since he wasn't on TV and wasn't exactly over with the audience at that point anyway.

Following his WWE release and after recovering from ACL surgery, Saturn hit the indies but also had runs in both TNA and New Japan Pro Wrestling. He wrestled 9 matches for TNA, then still taping at the Nashville fairgrounds and producing weekly pay-per-views, between March and July of '03. He did little besides forming a 'Team Extreme' stable with fellow ECW alums The Sandman, New Jack and Justin Credible.

He enjoyed more success in New Japan, where he had 35 matches over several tours between March and September of the same year. As well as going on tours, Saturn was also hired by Antonio Inoki to train wrestlers at the company's LA dojo.

Injuries and Saturn's personal demons meant that the partnership was not a long nor fruitful one.
