4. Was An Incredible Arm Wrestler
Watching Rick Rude's matches makes it obvious that the man had superior strength and conditioning. Even at his biggest, the guy was incredibly lean and wiry. Washboard abdominal muscles were outlined by big arms and a thick neck, but he still had a flexible look to him. Rick Rude looked like a cross between a male model and genuine bad-ass. Long before he entered the pro wrestling game, Rude was an ultra-competitive individual. One of his favourite ways to pass the time was to challenge others to arm wrestling matches. There's more than one account from men such as Bobby Heenan and Ted DiBiase regarding such challenges, they witnessed a lot of big guys try and fail to defeat Rude. Even when he was involved in wrestling, Rude couldn't help but compete in arm wrestling competitions. A lot of people likely aren't aware that there are different weight class divisions for the sport, but Rude was in the Light Heavyweight category. In 1983, he finished in 6th place, not just in the USA, but in the world. Amateur wrestling accomplishments are common place in pro wrestling circles, but arm wrestling is a little more unique.
