10 Things You Didn't Know About Rosey
2. He Was On A Reality TV Competition
Matt Anoa'i's departure from WWE wouldn't spell the end of his time on national television. In 2007, he was cast as part of a reality show on the ABC Network.
The crudely-named Fat March - based on UK show Too Big To Walk - only lasted for six episodes and drew mixed reviews from critics and fitness experts. The premise of the show was that a dozen American adults who had struggled with weight problems would walk from the starting line of the Boston Marathon to Washington, D.C. - a distance of over 550 miles. Competitors who completed the walk would get $100,000, but contestants could be voted off by their teammates.
Anoa'i was one of the participants, but unfortunately he wasn't able to finish. Though he was competing in order to lose weight and return to the ring, knee problems that he had suffered over the course of his career took their toll on him, and he was forced to leave the show during episode 5.
