10. Started Pursuing Dream To Wrestle When Classmate Said He Couldn't
A lot of wrestlers have familiar tales of how they first started on the long road into the grappling business, but few can say that their burning desire to succeed was partly due to a class room bet! Stevie Richards was an avid fan of pro wrestling, but when he revealed to one of his class mates that he someday dreamed of working in the industry, that fellow schoolboy said it couldn't be done. This only served to light a fire underneath Richards, who worked harder than ever to prove that he could have what it takes to be a part of such a relentlessly gruelling vocation. Needless to say, in order to carve a living for yourself in the world of professional wrestling, utter dedication is required, and that's something Richards had in abundance throughout his tenure in the ring. It's startling to picture a young Stevie Richards, fueled by words from a fellow class mate, determined to prove them wrong. A lot of wrestling dreams begin due to people wishing to prove themselves, but not many can claim to have started all because one kid taunted another that they couldn't become a wrestler!
