Yeah, this one surprised me too.

Instead of embarking on that career as a journalist, Yoshihiro Tajiri actually entered a slightly different world. After years of fighting people and twisting them into unnatural shapes for a living, Tajiri moved into the world of making the pain go away by becoming an acupuncturist.

Okay, so there is no actual science that shows acupuncture is anything other than a glorified placebo, but millions worldwide swear by having needles plunged into them so who am I to judge. Tajiri himself is obviously convinced by it too, and I don't particularly want to disagree with him.

Will Tajiri manage to put a pin into the balloon of hope that his fellow Cruiserweight Classic competitors hold so close to their hearts? A terrible joke yes, but we'll soon find out.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
