Tajiri Intro

Before being introduced to World Wrestling Federation audiences as Mankind, Mick Foley had travelled all over the world brutalising his own body for the entertainment of wrestling fans. Foley spent a decent amount of time in Japan, where he wrestled in International Wrestling Association of Japan (IWA).

It was here that Foley met a young Yoshihiro Tajiri for the first time. Foley tells the story in his first book of Tajiri carrying the bags, but it transpires that his role was a little more important than that. Tajiri spoke a little bit of Spanish thanks to his time in Mexico, and as such was tasked with looking after the foreign wrestlers that were working for IWA.

Mick Foley and Terry Funk were among them.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
