10 Things You Didn't Know About Tajiri

8. Tajiri Wrestled In The WWF In The 1990s

Tajiri signed with the World Wrestling Federation in 2001, and the first taste the WWF Universe got of the Japanese Buzzsaw was as William Regal's assistant. Well, this wasn't exactly the first taste the audience had received actually, as Tajiri had wrestled in a number of dark matches for the company as far back as 1997.

More so than dark matches, Tajiri actually wrestled on RAW a number of times as well. Most notably he went up against Taka Michinoku, then WWF Light Heavyweight Champion and clearly the man that the company wanted to build their light-heavyweight division around.

Tajiri also took part in a number of tag matches at the time, going up against the Godwinns and the team of Taka and Scott Taylor, who you probably know as Scotty 2 Hotty.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
