In the first ever Jim Crockett Memorial Tag Team Cup, the two teams would compete in a match that Dave Meltzer declared to be a 5 Star Match. The prize for the tournament was $1 million that The Road Warriors would eventually win. The Sheepherders and The Fantastics both failed to advance due to double disqualification by the referee.
