A mere two years after making his in-ring debut, Dynamite was on a show in England with Bruce Hart in 1977, and that'd be another friendship that changed his life forever. Hart, impressed by the big-bumping, rugged style of Kid, told his father Stu he'd make a great addition to his Stampede Wrestling territory.

Dynamite was up for it, but not for good.

Originally, he only agreed to hit Canada for a month or so to see what happened. The funny thing here is that Kid didn't come home until 1991, meaning 'a month or so' turned into around 13 years. He left UK soil on 27 April '78 and returned on 2 February '91. What a journey that must have been.

Dynamite found that he loved working in Stampede, and he forged friendships (albeit occasionally frosty ones) with guys like Bruce and Bret Hart. It's amazing to think he was so tentative at first, as if believing he might not get on well so far away from home.
