10 Things You Didn’t Know About The WWE Draft

5. The Only Female #1 Pick

RIC FLAIR DRAFT PICK
WWE.com

Here’s a telling statistic for you about the history of the WWE women’s roster. While John Cena’s scored two number one picks by himself, the entire female division has only managed one top pick between the lot of them.

That moment came in 2010, when Kelly Kelly became the first and only female to be drafted at the top of the bill. Other than that, the closest we’ve come to a second female number one pick was Melina in 2009 when she was drafted third.

Of course, this time out, Charlotte managed to match that effort when she was also drafted in the top three. And with Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch being selected in 13th and 14th respectively, this is the first time in history that we’ve had had a trio of females in the top 14.

And if they keep on going at this rate, it may not be long before Kelly Kelly loses that record of being the only female number one pick in WWE Draft history.
