10 Things You Didn't Know About The WWE Title

2. ‘Taker = First Champ Younger Than The Belt

Cody Rhodes WWE Title
WWE

It says everything about how mean the WWWF and WWF were with title changes between 1963-1991 that The Undertaker was only the 14th original champ to win the belt. He beat Hulk Hogan at Survivor Series '91, and made promotional history whilst he was at it. No, this has nothing to do with 'Taker only being one year deep into his run.

Instead, it has everything to do with his age.

'Taker was just 26 years of age when he pinned Hulk and won the title. He was born in 1965, which made him almost two years younger than the title's lineage (again, to hammer home the point, it was introduced in 1963). No champ pre-Undertaker had been literally younger than the championship.

Yokozuna would come along and take his famous foe's record when he won the strap in 1993. Yoko was born in 1966, so he was even younger than 'The Phenom'. The cheek of it. No wonder The Undertaker was so keen to beat the big heel in 1994.
