1. Vampiro Was Earmarked To Be 'Next Sting'

Vampiro It may be surprising considering that Sting is still active on WWE television today, but the man was no spring chicken ad far back as 2000, and the general feeling was that he needed to be used to help enhance younger members of the roster, shunting them up the card and getting the rub from working alongside him. The big plan was to have Vampiro become the 'next Sting' in WCW, those and such as those in charge of the promotion were extremely high on him. Having been a big name in Mexico, Vampiro did look to be over as a mid-card babyface in the early part of 2000, before he was turned heel to feud with Sting. Both men went on to have quite the long-running rivalry, one permeated with matches such as the 'Human Torch' debacle, and numerous throwaway cage matches on Nitro. Through all of this, the creative team wanted Vampiro to appear as strong as Sting, hopefully leading to him becoming a main event player. What do you remember about WCW in 2000?
