10 Things You Didn't Know About WWE Champion Dean Ambrose

7. CM Punk Absolutely Loves Him

In all honesty, we might be talking in the past tense here, given that Punk seems to have fallen out of love with pro wrestling more quickly than he did with any of his veritable harem of romantic conquests.

While he was still 'reaching for that brass ring', however, Punk - not a man who readily dishes out praise, unless it's in reference to himself - was a huge Ambrose supporter. He once tweeted that he considered him WWE's 'secret weapon', waiting in the FCW wings. Punk - who also values his time off as much as he does his body art and Chicago Blackhawks - even made the trip down to Florida to wrestle Ambrose, on his day off. He did so in an action-packed 25 minute contest, for nothing but the pleasure of it. This too was in the post-pipebomb era, during which he was already WWE's number 2 star. It's impossible to conceive of Punk wrestling for any amount of money these days, let alone for free.

That Punk loved him, and gave him the rub - before William Regal followed suit - must have helped Ambrose's prospects no end.
