5. Texas Tornado Took A Title Into A Pay-Per-View He'd Already Lost

...he made it from SummerSlam to Survivor Series with the secondary strap, but only on a quirky technicality.

At 1990's Thanksgiving Classic, Tornado teamed with The Ultimate Warrior and The Legion Of Doom to take on Mr Perfect and all three members of Demolition in an elimination tag match. The contest brought the World and Intercontinental Champions together, and also kept Kerry Von Erich's dispute with Mr Perfect very much at the centre of attention. The reason for that was because WWE had already shot Curt Hennig reclaiming his gold.

The company taped the contest on the November 19th but didn't plan to air it until almost a full month later. As a result, Von Erich walked into the Survivor Series three days later with the gold, and did the same for multiple house shows until the December 15th screening confirmed that the belt was back with Perfect.

It wrapped up quite a year for the flawless one too...
