10 Things You Didn't Know About WWE In 2001

10. Rising Tensions In The Divas Locker Room

By 2001, Lita was associated on-screen with another popular act, The Hardy Boys. As one of the promotion's hottest tag-teams, Matt and Jeff Hardy were carving quite the niche for themselves, propping up the duo division with other top tandems, The Dudley Boys and Edge & Christian. Slotting nicely into the 'Team Xtreme' faction, Lita had come into her own as one of the most beloved Divas in the company. Even though WWE portrayed all the women under contract as the best of friends, there was obviously an ultra competitive edge to their relationships - even at the turn of the millennium, Divas were fighting for limited TV time, and all were eager to grab the spotlight. Ivory had been around for a short while before Lita in WWE, and thus had witnessed the latter come into the company and rise up in the fans estimations, becoming one of the biggest females on the roster. Intriguingly, Ivory noted during a shoot interview appearance that she found it difficult to relate with Lita, who would be showered with gifts by fans, only to leave those presents behind when she left the arena. In Ivory's view, this was flat out rude, and it left a bitter taste in her mouth. It's interesting to hear about these little rifts in the WWE system, especially when everything is painted as being like paradise.
