10 Things You Didn't Know About WWE In 2004

3. TNA Invades WWE Filming

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0AXqkMckYI#t=26 WWE were in TNA town in early November 2004. The Raw and Smackdown rosters were at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida to shoot a commercial for the 2005 Royal Rumble PPV. Seeing an opportunity, TNA sent some of its wrestlers (including The Road Dogg 'B.G. James') to greet their rivals from New York. It was a peaceful meeting between the two teams. According to reports, stars like Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho and Rey Mysterio were all very friendly and had conversation with the TNA crew. Val Venis and Rhyno hung out with members of Team Canada at a bar, too (they had all broken into the business together). TNA filmed the whole episode to broadcast at their Turning Point PPV. In the video you can clearly see Eddie Guerrero and then Rey Mysterio (both of whom's faces were blurred) come out and embrace Konan. Vince McMahon was reportedly furious with this incident. TNA employee David Sahadi set the whole thing up when he learned that the WWE crew would be in town. As a result, many WWE employees contacted Sahadi and threatened him with physical violence. Sahadi's father, Lou, who had worked in WWE's Public Relations department for a long time, was fired and Kevin Dunn threatened the same to any WWE employee who contacted Sahadi. It was a publicity stunt, sure, but it got the wrestling world talking for a little bit.
