Former Playboy cover girl Ashley Massaro got all sorts of wrong attention in May 2008. Massaro, who won the 2005 version of the WWE Diva Search, was named by Rolling Stone magazine as being linked to an escort service. The FBI began to monitor emails between Massaro and the 'Bella Models' agency from 2004 in an attempt to get a search warrant for the escort ringleader (Nicci Braun). Bella Models was a site where wealthy gentleman could buy the services of porn stars and models for $25,000 per night. According to the Rolling Stone piece 'prominent athletes, TV stars, and Fortune 500 CEOs' were all clients of the service. Emails between Braun and clients discussed whether the agency's women would allow 'fetish' or 'GFE (girlfriend experience) as part of the deal. Ashley denied the claims, writing in a MySpace post 'False False False Just got buzzed on some BS that is going around. Dont believe it for a second. Getting in touch with my lawyer as we speak. I'm beyond upset'. WWE stuck by Ashley, telling her to keep her head down and wait for the story to blow over. Nevertheless, she left the company in July (of her own volition in order to tend to her sick daughter).
