10 Things You Didn't Know About WWE In 2013

7. Kofi Kingston's First Trip To MetLife Stadium

There was a lot to love about KofiMania in 2019, particularly thanks to how grandiose the payoff was.

Kingston winning clean alongside his best friends and longstanding colleagues reduced most to tears inside MetLife stadium, and it probably wasn't lost on the new WWE Champion how fitting it was that the whole scene took place there.

Six years earlier (and over a year before The New Day formed), Kingston was at something of a crossroads in his career after five years of main roster rind. With little to do on the 'Show Of Shows' he instead appeared as a panellist alongside Jim Ross and Dusty Rhodes for WrestleMania's pre-show.

Esteemed company for sure, but perhaps not the folks for the future headliner was ideally wanting to spend wrestling's biggest day of the year with while he was still at the prime wrestler age of 31. It'd get better in time - and in that very venue.
