10 Things You Didn't Know About WWE Payback

6. Randy Orton's Awful Record

Whereas you can label Seth Rollins as Mr. Payback, Randy Orton is the polar opposite of the Visionary.

As it stands, Orton is tied for second place - with Rollins - when it comes to the most appearances at Payback, but the Viper remains winless in all five of his outings at this event.

Orton may have had the most PPV/PLE matches in WWE history, complete with the fourth-most PLE wins, yet the 14-time World Champion has had a horrific time of it any time Payback has rolled around on the calendar.

As mentioned, the most recent Payback saw Randal Keith lose to Keith Lee. Prior to that, 2017 was a loss to Bray Wyatt in the House of Horrors bout for Orton, 2016 had him come up short in a four-way match for Seth Rollins' WWE World Heavyweight Title, 2014 had Randy part of an Evolution that lost to the Shield, and 2013 had Orton unsuccessfully team with Daniel Bryan against the Shield's Rollins and Roman Reigns.

While we're all clamouring for a fit and healthy Randy Orton to return to our screens after over a year on the shelf by this point, it's likely for the best that Orton swerves Payback 2023 either way.
