5. Shawn Michaels Deliberately Sabotaged 2005 Hogan Match
Speaking of Hogan, his 2005 main event victory over Shawn Michaels was nothing if not controversial. The original plan was that the two stars would have a best of three series, with both men winning a match apiece going into a final deciding match (possibly at WrestleMania). Things didn't quite go as planned. Hogan informed WWE just prior to SummerSlam that he was hurt and would only be able to work the one match, meaning that the rematch was off. Needless to say, Michaels wasn't too happy about this and suspected it was Hogan up to his old tricks in order to avoid doing a high-profile job. HBK was already miffed about losing and having to play heel for the feud, something he was reluctant to do since it clashed with his born-again religious beliefs. So Michaels deliberately oversold the majority of Hogan's offense, turning the match into a farce. Michaels' overselling was so ridiculous that WWE had to go back and edit some of it on the WWE Network version of the event.
