10. He Once Wrestled Over An Hour In A 26-Fall Match

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Exn1PA4-r3g Jerry Lawler is easily the most popular professional wrestler that ever came out of Memphis, but there was a time when Dutch Mantell would rival his fame in that region. Not only would they blow the roof off in a series of face vs. face matches but they would even team together on one specific occasion to form a red hot tag team. On March 24th, 1986, the fan favorites Lawler and Mantell would face off against Bill Dundee and Buddy Landell in a marathon of a match in front of a sold out crowd at the Mid South Coliseum. There's a discrepancy whether the match was a 'Texas Death Match' or a 'Falls Don't Count In Memphis Match' but it doesn't change the fact that it lasted around 1 hour and 15 minutes and scored an astounding 26 falls. The rules stated that a pinfall doesn't end the match but rather starts a 10-count. If the wrestler does not get to their feet after the ref counts to 10 then the match would officially end. Dutch comically was lifted to his feet by Landell after the 26th fall allowing him to score the win for Lawler and himself.
