When Sheamus captured the United States Championship in March 2011, it was seen as a turning point for the title. Being a former two-time WWE champion, he could have helped bring prestige back to the star-spangled prize, but unfortunately, that never came to be.

Other than a short-lived feud with Daniel Bryan, he didn't do much with the belt other than lose non-title matches. One of those losses came against Kofi Kingston at the 2011 WWE Draft, earning the Ghana native a shot at the strap.

Although it wasn't advertised ahead of time, Sheamus and Kingston were placed in a Tables match with the championship up for grabs at Extreme Rules. It wasn't meant to be anything more than a filler match, but it ended up being a fairly fun bout with plenty of suspenseful spots mixed in.

With a beautiful Boom Drop to Sheamus through a table at ringside, the crowd exploded with elation as Kingston scored his second U.S. title.

On a show that also featured the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships changing hands, it's no surprise that this match is often overlooked. Plus, it wasn't Kingston's greatest run with the belt (he dropped it a mere month later to Dolph Ziggler), but the moment itself was a highlight.
