At WrestleMania 29, Orton, Sheamus and Big Show put their differences aside to take on The Shield in six-man tag team action. Ultimately, they were unsuccessful, prompting Big Show to take out his frustration on Sheamus and Orton afterward by knocking them both out.

Sheamus went on to feud with Mark Henry, but Orton didn't take the betrayal too lightly; he shifted his focus on Show and challenged him to a No Holds Barred match at Extreme Rules where they could finally settle their score.

Anywhere else, the match wouldn't have been anything out of the ordinary, but thanks to the venue being Orton's hometown of St. Louis, the environment was electric and it definitely enhanced the hype. The Viper hit him with everything he had, but no matter what he dished out, he struggled to put the giant away.

Just when fans thought he pulled everything out of his arsenal, he backed up into the corner of the ring, signalling that he was setting up his debilitating punt kick that hadn't been used in years. As the crowd roared, Orton connected with the move to the skull of The World's Largest Athlete, which was enough to land him the win.

Few times has Orton connected with the kick since that night two years ago.
