For a better episode of Raw, fast forward to the 17 May edition.

Not only does it boast The 1-2-3 Kid's shocking win over Razor Ramon, it also includes a stirring main event between Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannetty for the Intercontinental Title. This would be a big night for Marty, because he beat his old Rockers tag partner, topped his jaded effort at the Royal Rumble and captured the belt.

Fans leapt out of their seats when Marty bagged the title, and it's clear from listening to Vinnie Mac's commentary on the match that he had high hopes for his new champion. Watching back, it's hard not to get frustrated over how things panned out.

Literally 20 days later, Jannetty dropped the strap back to Shawn and fell back down the card. His flirtation with the IC Title was over, and the massive reaction his victory got on 17 May was quickly forgotten. It's a waste, in retrospect.
