9. Buff Bagwell’s Match Wasn’t That Bad

Everyone has enjoyed a right good chuckle at one Buff Bagwell since 2001, eh? 'Oh, his match with Booker T was so bad Vinnie Mac cancelled plans for WCW! Hahahahaha'. 'Aw, Buff's mother kept calling Jim Ross and bugging him about her son!' etc etc.

Fair enough, but one thing isn't true: Buff didn't quite sh*t the bed as badly as WWE history wants you to believe. Company lore paints his match vs. Booker from the 2 July '01 Raw as one of the worst ever. It was basic and far from great, sure, but it was hardly awful. The promotion put on similar-quality scraps every week and nobody said sh*t.

Also, the fact only Bagwell got the blame for it instead of both he and Booker is grossly unfair. Popular wrestling parlance claims it "takes two to tango", so why did 'Buff Daddy' get ridiculed but not Booker? Both guys were in the same ring, after all.

It's incredible that one short, largely-inconsequential TV bout ruined someone's career.
