Vince McMahon 2001 Losing It

You've probably forgotten all about the immediate steel cage rematch between The Rock and Steve Austin from the post-WrestleMania X-Seven Raw, right? Admittedly, it came as a nifty surprise to this writer when he was ploughing through each episode. He couldn't remember it at all.

Oops.

The no contest finish spared Rocky from doing another job and kept the belt on 'Stone Cold'. In amongst all of that, the aforementioned 'Two-Man Power Trip' egg was hatched, and Austin continued his unlikely alliance with Vince McMahon. Meanwhile, The Rock was expected to tie everything together as the star babyface - he predictably managed that.

This cage effort is another everyone should go back and check out in 2022. It never gets mentioned next to the 'Mania classic, and most wrestling fans would be hard-pressed to name it if you pinned them down and demanded answers today.

'What was the main event of the Raw after 'Mania X-Seven in 2001?'. 'Christ knows, mate!'.
