10 Things You Learn Binge Watching Every WWE Raw From 2001

2. Ric Flair Feels So Out Of Place

Vince McMahon 2001 Losing It

24 hours after WCW had been all-but-deleted by the WWF at Survivor Series 2001, one of its most famous sons re-debuted on Raw to a thunderous reception. Ric Flair looked resplendent as he danced out in front of a delighted crowd and told Vince McMahon he was somehow 50% owner of the company on 19 November.

From there, Ric appeared as an authority figure in skits with the likes of McMahon, The Rock, Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, Triple H and others. Throughout, when one re-watches these episodes, he consistently comes across as someone who is totally out of place for the final month or so of the year.

Timing is everything, and a WCW relic showing up after that company's in-house demise is not great timing. It's also bizarre that Flair only started bedding into the WWF again when calendars ticked over into 2002 and he became a key component in the new Evolution faction.

Before that, he was a bit of a spare pr*ck at the WWF wedding.
