Christ knows why WWE didn't book Kane vs. Vince McMahon.

The reborn (and maskless) Kane hammered Linda with a Tombstone on the 21 July Raw, and that brought Vinnie 'Angry Husband' Mac into the equation for a memorably-tense staredown with the heelish nightmare on 28 July. Fans were super-into the thought of Vince as an underdog babyface here, but it didn't lead to anything between both men.

Instead, Shane McMahon stood up for his mother's honour by facing Kane in a series of matches. They were fine (testicle electrocution aside), but Vince would've been better. Fans had been there, done that on Shane's big-bumping style by '03, and there was clearly more interest in the McMahon patriarch going to bat for Linda.

Vince worked five bouts that year - he faced Hulk Hogan, Zack Gowen, Brock Lesnar, Stephanie McMahon (?!) and The Undertaker. WWE left that Kane scrap on the cutting room floor, and they really shouldn't have done that when so many folks were interested in seeing it.
