No spoiler alerts needed on that 'Feud Of The Year' prize. You already guessed what it'd be when reading the intro to this piece (if you didn't know already, that is). Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho told one hell of a story throughout 2008. Bumper matches at Judgment Day, Great American Bash, Unforgiven and No Mercy were fantastic to witness, and so was Jericho accidentally punching HBK's wife at SummerSlam.

Things had been at boiling point between them ever since Chris smashed Shawn through the Jeritron in June, and fans simply couldn't get enough of seeing the pair brawl. Somehow, despite working on no less than 4 pay-per-views that year, the world class pairing found a way to maintain interest all the way up until the 10 November '08 Raw.

A ‘Last Man Standing’ match came when Jericho was already spinning off into a rivalry with comeback king John Cena, but it still ruled. WWE served up a treat to Manchester, England that evening. Sadly, not many talk about this one or the 26 May double countout. If you only watch one of the free TV matches, make it ‘Last Man Standing’.

It was bloody excellent. Spiffing, one might say...if they were called Jerry Lawler and trying to heap on some British vernacular, because that's what WWE always tried to do. The company thought England was stuck somewhere between the Victorian era and World War II right up until maybe 2020.

Nevermind the b*llocks, here's Y2J vs. HBK in a blowoff bout. Not quite as catchy a title as the Sex Pistols coined, but nonetheless true.
