10 Things You Learn From Watching 1992 On The WWE Network

1. The WWF Should Have Pulled The Trigger On Hulk Hogan Vs. Ric Flair

As soon as Ric Flair made the jump over the WWF in late-1991, it seemed only a matter of time before he'd clash with Hulk Hogan on pay-per-view. Unbelievably, wrestling fans would have to wait until WCW's Bash At The Beach 1994 to see the pair collide on such a stage. It didn't happen in the WWF.

Hogan and Flair did regularly work together on the house show circuit, but a proposed match for WrestleMania VIII was pulled. Some have guessed the duo just didn't click or draw much money during live events, but Flair himself has stated on his podcast before that he's still unsure as to why it didn't happen.

Looking back, there's little doubt that Hulk Hogan vs. Ric Flair should have taken place. Flair vs. Randy Savage at 'Mania was fine, but Sid Justice vs. Hogan was a poor substitute for the latter. Against Flair, he would have had a foe people were desperate to see him face.

By the time Hulk had left and returned in early-1993, Flair was gone from the promotion. Their match was one that got away for Vince McMahon.
