The contrast between WWF Heavyweight Title matches at the Royal Rumble 1992 and the 1993 iteration couldn't have been larger. In '92, Ric Flair had captured the gold by outlasting 29 other men in the Rumble match itself. The following year, Bret Hart was defending the belt against Razor Ramon in a straight up singles affair.

His parents sat at ringside, the Hitman was eager to impress. Ramon was the ideal opponent for Hart, because he was a larger heel physically, but also extremely mobile. This meant that the babyface champ could bump around realistically for his rival, but also logically pick him apart with his trademark moves and unrivalled spirit.

That proved to be the story of the Rumble title match, and it turned out to be a sleeper hit. Undoubtedly, Razor vs. Hart from the Royal Rumble 1993 is a hidden gem, some may even be taken aback by the quality when revisiting the event on the WWE Network.

Neither man was in a rush to sprint through the match, and that only helps it become one of the most underrated title classics in living memory.
